RUSSELL — A new program this month at the Noble See Outdoor Center taught youngsters how to be prepared for their next camping adventure.
The outdoor lesson on July 15 was called Camping Skills 101 and divided into two portions. Younger kids participated in a story walk through the woods as they read from laminated pages of “The Camping Trip, ” by Jennifer K. Mann. The book follows a young girl named Ernestine as she goes camping with her aunt and cousin. Though she considers herself ready for the trip, she soon learns how challenging — but fun — camping can be.
